Gordon Cantrell was born and raised in.....You're not going to believe this......Truth or Consequences, New Mexico.  Yes, there is a real place with that name.

Gordon was raised on a dairy, where his father taught him one skill........ WORK!  It seems he's always made his living with words and rhymes.  By day he's a (Oh God) salesman, and by night, he does his best to stay awake long enough to sing for his supper.

Gordon was raised in church where he sang with his mother and aunts.  He started playing guitar and singing in local bands in New Mexico at the age of 12.  (Back then you could do that!)

He moved to Bakersfield in 1973 and went to work in the oilfields.  He's gone downhill ever since.

His singing style comes from many years of listening to the masters such as Jim Reeves, Johnny Cash, George Strait, and Allan Jackson.
